My first and last full week in the MTC was awesome! The first couple days went by so fast and now I am leaving for Missouri TOMORROW!!!! WWHHHAAAAAAAT!?!?!?!?!? It is crazy. It feels like I got here yesterday.
If my emails here seem like a bunch of random stuff thrown together, that is because they are. We only get one hour to email which seems like a lot of time but it is hard to respond to everyone and write a big email. I just have so much to say. I love you ALL so don’t feel left out.
I’ve still been learning a lot and growing my testimony like crazy. One thing we focus on a lot here at the MTC is our purpose as missionaries. Our purpose is to “Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end” How cool is that!?!?! So cool. One of my favorite words in this is INVITE. But the thing is, it’s not our invitation, it’s the Lords, we are just helping.
Another thing we learn is to focus on the investigator, not our lesson. The natural man in us wants to say “How did I do? What did I say? Did they like me?” but none of that matters. What matters is if they felt the spirit. It is amazing to see the difference when you focus on the person and not what you are going to say next. Matthew 10:19-20 says “19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” I just love this scripture. We just need to have faith that He will help us. And He DOES!!! It is awesome.
I have grown to love the Book of Mormon so much more here. It is FULL of truth and awesomeness. Every page has something we can learn from. One of my favorite scriptures of the week is Moroni 10:4-5, “4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”
Sister Bustillos is still the best companion ever. We have become such good friends and we laugh a ton together. It is going to be so weird not having her as a companion in a few days. I’m going to miss her. We had to get immunizations a few days a go and I almost passed out. That was an adventure. The lady made me sit down and drink orange juice and kept fanning me with paper… It was kind of pathetic. But I lived!
We got to go the the beautiful temple today!! YAY! It was so great. And guess who I saw!! My great uncle Loyd and his family!!!! Crazy but awesome. It was so good to see them before I left.
So I wasn’t done with my email and it freaked out. Anyways. The pictures are of my district at the temple last week and the second one is all of the girls in my room. I love them. We had to do a cheezy jumping picture. These two are more of my district (or part of my district) we had to take a selfie. I am still trying to figure out my pictures. The only ones I can figure out how to send are the ones that have been sent to me. I’ll keep trying. I have loved being in the MTC but am SO excited for tomorrow!! It is going to be amazing. I love you all and thank you for all the love!!
