So, Sister Lyons totes has a Canadian accent. It’s great! 🙂 She says words funny sometimes. Hehe 🙂 Love it.
We had such a great week this week!
We got to go to the Mission Office to get a Tiwi in our new car. Tiwi is our driving monitoring system. It yells at us when we go to fast. We were Tiwi-less for a couple weeks because we got a new car. I love the Senior missionaries in this mission! They are all so great! And hilarious! There were some elders getting a Tiwi too and the office elders were there too. The Senior missionaries took us all out to lunch, It was so fun! We laughed a lot. They love the missionaries. 🙂 I love them.
We had two lessons with Cherie this week. She talked to her family and isn’t too sure about baptism anymore. She wants to try out the nun thing. That was hard but she has her agency. She’s still praying about May 28th though. We are going to give her a tour of the Temple grounds and she feels that she can get answers there. 🙂
We had some great less active lessons this week. Carol is one of them. 🙂 She had a really good relationship with the sister missionaries that were here a couple years ago but she doesn’t click with the elders. Our Relief Society president asked us to see her, she was so happy to see sisters again! We got to know her a bit, she has 35 birds. Parakeets. It’s fantastic! She accepted the invitation to take the missionary lessons! 🙂 We are excited to work with her and help her come closer to Christ.
We got to know more of the members in Oakville this week. They are all so amazing! Several families fed us this week. It’s fun being with families again after the YSA. 🙂 Little kids are the best! Cool little kid story: We were talking with this mom about missionaries she knows, one serving in San Antonio, Texas. Sister Lyons was talking about Texas and San Antonio. Her 6 year old says with so much confidence, “He’s not in San Antonio, he’s in TEXAS!!” Hahahaha we were all laughing so hard! It was awesome!
Last week in church we met a girl named Kate, she had just started coming to the Oakville ward. She’s 17 and super awesome. She told us she’d grown up going to church and decided to go to the ward she lives in instead of with her boyfriend. Turns out, she’s not a member! She had friends in the church growing up. She moved to Indiana then St. Louis and has been going to church by herself for a long time. She told us her parents never let her get baptized but they were softening. We talked with her again yesterday and she told us she wants to take the lessons and be baptized! We met with her Sunday night and taught her the Restoration. She already knows the church is true and really wants to be a member! She has been so prepared for the gospel. We are waiting to set a baptism date until she talks to her mom this week. We are praying that goes well. 🙂 I am so excited we met Kate. She’s already changed my life. 🙂
I hit my halfway day this week. It’s weird. We got smoothies to celebrate. While we were there, I dropped my smoothie and it made a huge mess all over the place. #graceful. But we had fun. 🙂 Sister Lyons is great. 🙂
Life is good. I love being a missionary. I’m learning so much every day. I like training too. Sister Lyons is loving missionary life. She is so prepared to be a missionary. 🙂 I love the greenie fire! She teaches me so much every day!
I love you all so much! I hope you all have an amazing week! Go share the gospel with someone! 🙂
