Windy Sis Day Exchanges

Exchanges with Sister Schow (it was super windy)

Ok so this week was great! We were able to attend a world wide missionary broadcast! That was amazing! There were many amazing speakers from the Quorum of the Twelve, the Seventy and other auxiliaries and organizations. It was two hours packed with awesomeness. Missionary work around the world is about to get real! They talked a lot about refocusing on our purpose and focusing on the fundamentals. We are super pumped to declare repentance and baptize converts! That is what we are focusing on, declaring repentance and baptizing converts. And we are going to do that by focusing and mastering the fundamentals and focusing on the people we teach. ๐Ÿ™‚
We had some great lessons with recent converts and less actives. Our recent converts are super solid! They were seriously so prepared to receive the gospel. They have amazing testimonies. ๐Ÿ™‚ It was cool to hear some of them this week. A couple of our less actives are progressing too! They are taking steps to build their faith and be active in the church again. Miracles happen.
Ok cool story. It was one of our first days in the area and we had gone through our area book and the members in the branch. There was someone listed on Do Not Contact and we were wondering why he was a DNC. We were driving to someone’s house and all the sudden we pass this guys street! We turn around and decide to knock on his door. He miraculously was home! AND…. He is totally ready to meet with missionaries and keep commitments and come to church (when he’s not working). Pshhh Do Not Contact. Whateves. Moral of the story, listen to the spirit and never give up on anyone.
We had exchanges this week! I got to be with my trainer, Sister Schow again!! That was really cool. She is such a wonderful missionary and taught me so much this week.
We had some awesome member dinners. This branch is so good at feeding the missionaries! You wouldn’t expect it but YSAs love to feed the missionaries! The members are so solid.
This week we also did some service! There was a huge flood a couple weeks ago and it impacted Missouri pretty badly. Our service this week was removing the sand bags. 15 tons of sandbags. I don’t know if you knew this but sandbags are HEAVY. Especially when they are muddy and frozen and wet. We had assembly lines going and we all worked together. We also got to wear the Mormon Helping Hands shirts. (I’ve always wanted to wear one) Several wards came to help and we worked together to move all the sand. ๐Ÿ™‚ It was really fun and I feel blessed to be able to help the people in this community.

This area is amazing. I’m learning a lot and growing spiritually. ๐Ÿ™‚ Both Sister Day and I are exactly where we are suppose to be right now. ๐Ÿ™‚

One of our recent converts is a student at St. Louis University (a private Catholic college) and we gave the mascot a Book of Mormon. ๐Ÿ™‚
