This week was good. Tuesday was one of the most interesting days I’ve had on my mission. It seemed like everything happened on Tuesday. It was just one thing after another! A beloved member of the ward passed away. She was old and super sweet, everyone loved her. We went to their families house and spent some time with them. A family in the ward lost their home and everything they had in a fire. They are all ok and very blessed. We got chewed out for following a spiritual prompting. None of our appointments showed up. A older couple in the ward was in a car accident, they are both ok too. A sister in the ward fell and broke some fingers. And I think that’s it. Goodness. The Lord’s hand was definitely in everything that happened this week.
We had a great lesson with Casey (the less active who we miraculously ran into who came to church the next day) Brother and Sister Waggoner came with us and really helped with fellowship! Brother Waggoner and Casey went to school together. Ah! He is just so ready to come back to church!
We found a new investigator this week who is super solid! Her name is Rhonda and she’s super sweet and willing to work with us. 🙂 I’m very excited to teach her.
We had a really good discussion with a Stake President from the Reorganized LDS church. She is really sweet and kind. We talked about our similarities and differences. There wasn’t contention though. It was a really interesting talk. I am very thankful that our church is run by Jesus Christ and for the living prophets, apostles and leaders we have. 🙂
We get to go to St. Louis for Zone Conference tomorrow! I’m super excited to hear from our mission leaders! 🙂 Very much looking forward to that.
We had a Relief Society Christmas dinner and program. It was really neat. The food was delicious. #FuneralPotatoesForTheWin. And the program was amazing. The theme was “Women at Christ’s Birth” They had speaking parts for Mary’s mom, Joseph’s mom, Elizabeth, the innkeeper’s wife and Mary. It was really cool to think about it from that perspective. They had musical numbers in between the parts. The Spirit was really strong and I loved it so much! 🙂 This ward is amazing. I have developed a lot of love for all the people here. I’m excited to spend Christmas with this ward family. 🙂
